Ranking of 2013Jan was released

Japan Sumo Association press released Hars-Basho new ranking which will be held from 13th.Jan. 

BARUTO fell down his ranking to Sekiwake after 16 tournaments.

Kyokutenho has marked 100 tournaments career in Makuchi division ,it means he will be 5th record of career in Makuuchi division ,just passing by former Mitoizumi(now Nishikido oyakata).

New Konusubi Shohozan is the first sumo tori under former ozeki Wakashimazu(now Matasugane Oyakata) and and first sumo tori graduated from Komazwa Univ.

Baruto starts Keiko!!

Thank you for the comment from USA!! Today's sports newspaper reported, Baruto will be ranked Sekiwake in next new year tournament which starts 13th Jan. Baruto started Keiko(=training) on 19th Dec. after one month off. 24th Dec. is the day next ranking will be announced and Baruto think he train his basic physical first until 24th.Dec. Baruto got chip fracture in his right foot thumb last kyushu-basho. So he fell into 2 tournaments makekoshi. Baruto said to newspaper reporters first time after injury. "It can't be helped I fell down from Ozeki rank" "I had better think for future." "Now I never feel pain at all" He had left knee problem and this time right foot. It meant no more injury for Sumotori life. Baruto must concentrate on his rehabilitationprogram. And he had refresh time. Baruto visited Ueno Zoo with Elen his wife for the first time. He faced to Gorila and talked to Gorila "Can you win for me? Fifty percent,hahaha"with full smile.   "It is not easy way for reaching to 10 wins. But I only think I sumo in my own style." Baruto had experienced 3 times Yusho after absence of tournament. 2006 Oct 4wins 7 losses 4 absence in Maegashira #1. Left knee ligament injury. 2006 Nov 10wins 5 losses. 2007 Jan 2wins 2 losses 11 absence in Maegashira #3.Same part injury.Left knee. 2007 Mar Total absence. 2007 May 14 wins 1 loss in Jyuryou.Jyuryo Yusho. 2007 July 0 wins 2 losses 13 absence in Megashira #14.Same part injury. 2007 Sep Jyuryo Yusho. And back to Makunocuhi in Nov.
