Day13 Baruto vs Kotoshogiku (Hatsu-Basho 2012 Jan)

平成２４年　大相撲　初場所　第１３日目。両国国技館。
2012 Grand Sumo Tournament Day13 at Ryougokokugikan.

Baruto(12-0) meets Kotoshogiku(7-5).
Kotoshogiku who is in second tournament after Ozeki promotion, lost his sumo.
I think he had to be appeared to Media many times after last tournament.
He is lack of "Keiko"(=training).

Record is Baruto 17 wins against Kotoshogiku only 3 wins.
Baruto has beat 6 times per last 6 tournaments.
Baruto beat Kotoshogiku by Yorikiri in 2011 Nov tournament.

10 flags were appeared.
Baruto started with "Haridashi"(=slap).
And soon got his favorite style "Hidari Yotsu"(=left inside right outside grips).
Baruto outside grip was positioned far.
It meant it was hard to lift up opponent.
But Baruto lifted up Kotoshogiku!!
It was amazing.

Baruto lifted up and down  and made Kotoshogiku lost balance and threw Kotoshogiku completely by left inside.

Baruto this tournament never quits his attacking.

Baruto W(SHITATENAGE)L Kotoshgiku
13-0

If Hakuo vs Kotoshu ends Kotooshu win,Baruto decides title of Makuuchi division.

Kotooshu gripped left outside and Hakuho could not get left inside grip.

This was the point.

OMG!

Hakuho lost.
Baruto 13-0

Baruto is the champion of Makuuchi division of this tournament !!!

Day14 vs Kotooshu (Kyushu-Basho 2011 Nov)

Grand sumo Tournament Kyushu-basho day14.

大相撲　九州場所　第１４日目。

Saturady night.

Baruto meets Ozeki Kotooshu.

Kotooshu has already passed "Kachikoshi" (=over 8 wins) line and escaped from "Kadoban"

(If Ozeki has 2 straight "Makekoshi"(=less than 7 wins),the Ozeki lost his postision. In the next basho to "Makekoshi" basho ,the ozeki is called "Kadoban")

Kotooshu this year lost his sumo style.

His top form is low starting and to get "Maemitsu" and kills opponents sumo and rush forward.

Before Baruto's promoting to Ozeki,I sometimes mentioned Kotooshu's starting and grip sumo was a paragon of sumo of European(I mean body size and long leg is quite different from Asian sumotoris)

Kotooshu forget his sumo.

But,,

I think Kotooshu these days sumo pretty well though he did not make his score satisfactorily.

At starting,Kotooshu tried to get "Maemitsu" and he got it for an instant.

Baruto showed "Inashi" without delay and cut off Kotososhu grip.

This was the point of this bout.

Bartuo has marked 10 wins and 4 losses.

I want to say why Baruto lost 3 in the early days of this tournament.

If not, today Baruto vs Hakuho would be a real play-off.

Baruto w(SHITATENAGE)L Kotooshu

10 wins 4 losses.

Day7 vs Kyokutenho (Kyushu-Basho 2011Nov)

Grand Sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho Day 7.
Saturday night.

BARUTO 3-3 vs Kyokutenho 1-5
BARUTO is getting better.

Baruto W (SHITATENAGE) L Kyokuteho

4 wins 3 losses.

Day4 vs Aminishiki (Haru-Basho 2010 Mar)

Today's opponent Komusubi Aminishiki is very skillful and tricky wrestler.

Past result between them is 6wins Baruto and 3wins Aminishiki.

This is not easy bout for Baruto.

As we predicted,Baruto slightly lost this bout.

Aminishiki had chance to win.

But Baruto today continued to rush and tried to chase Aminishiki's action.

Aminishiki is 31 years old.

A big and long bout was hard for older.

Baruto gripped belt by his left hand,,,he could grip.

Today is not perfect sumo.

But all we want is win.

sekiwake BARUTO ○(SHITATENAGE)× AMINISHIKI komusubi

4 wins!
