Kaio is highest ranker Japanese.

The point was Baruto grabbed Kaio's belt.

I guess Baruo got much damage in his mental by lost yesterday.

Today 's bout against Ozeki Kaio is really touch stone for baruto.

By the way,

Sumo performace is sometimes told from 3 dimensions.

One is mind(="kokoro","心”;Every Kanji character has many ways of pronunciation.This "心”has "shin" and #kokoro").

The second is skill("技”＝"waza","gi").

The third is body("体”="karada","tai")

"心技体" (="shin-gi-tai) is basic sumo concept.

I think Baruto has knee injury after Harumafuji win.

He coud not keep balance and lower position.

Grand sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho

day15 (="Senshuraku)(=final day in traditional Japanese word)

Baruto meets Ozeki Kaio.

Kaio is from Kyushu Island.

The spectaculars praise Kaio everyday and every Kyushu-basho.

Past result is Baruto's 7-5.

Last one year result is

Kyushu's Kaio has something .......

Kaio in Kyushu-basho is different from him in other tournaments...

Kaio aimed to throw Kotenage from very beginning.

He selected this killer submission in the best timing.

In the end,Kaio's arm away from arampit,so final submission was Tottari.

11-4 is Baruto's score this tournament.

Baruto marked 11 wins and keep in championship race till day14.

This is not good.

Baruto these tournaments after ozeki promotion has not showed his sumo.

GRAND SUMO TOURNAMENT KUGATSU-BASHO DAY9 (Monday)

Baruto takes on Ozeki Kaio.

Kaio is now 4-4 and if lost this tournament,he falls down to Sekiwake next tournament.

Past result is 6 wins Baruto and 5 wins Kaio.

Uuuuum.

Kaio took Baruto's "Nodowa" arm.

It is called "Watashi komi"

This is Kaio's killer skill.

Sometims Kaio showed "Kotenage" in the same scheme.

Grand Sumo tournament Nagoya Basho day9

Today is the national holiday "Umi no Hi"(day of sea).

Most of students summer vacation starts day after tomorrow in Japan.

Baruto has not gotten his sumo own sumo yet.

But bouts among upper rankers starts drom day9.

Today Baruto meets Ozeki Kaio (6-2 til yesterday).

Past result is 5 wins Baruto and 5 wins Kaio.

I want baruto to play up to his sumo from this win.

Day9 vs Kaio (Gogatsu-Basho 2010 May)

Barut fights against Ozeki Kaio.
Baruto is 7 wins 1 lose.
Kaio is 5 wins 3 loses.
Past is Baruto 4 wins and Kaio 5 wins.
But In past 6 tournaments,Baruto is 3 wins 2 loses.


Baruto did not push at "tachiai"(=starting).

Baruto tried to grip bels but he could not.

If Baruto fastened to change this situation,he would lose today.

But Baruto waited for chance.

Ozeki Kaio was lack of stamina.

Baruto gradually gave pressure to Kaio.

At last he threw "Kotenage" and made Kaio losing control and pushed out of ring.

Day9 vs Kaio (Haru-Basho 2010 Mar)

Kaio is breaking the record of Winning number at Makuuchi division everyday.

Kaio is 37 years old ozeki and having 185cm tall and 169 kg.

Kaio is considered as a top Japanes sumotori.

Uuuum!

Excellent tactics.

Baruto tried to grip "Maemitsu"(=front part of belt).

But he could not,so changed to "Tsuppari"(=arm pushing like wind mill ).

He once made Kaio's posture upward ,immediately he pulled Kaio.

But he could not submitted,so he got left outside grip,,

soon threw "Dashinage"to made Kaio unbalanced.

And attached his body to Kaio

and went forward with "Hikitsuke"(=pulled belt to make unballanced).

Step work was also taken care about gliding steps(="Suriashi")

Yorikiri win.

I was specially interrested in his continuous attacking.

This is major change in this tournament comparing with last tournament.

Day6 vs Kaio (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Today is the day Baruto's 200 times Makuuchi division appearance .

Kaio is one of five Ozeki.

Last bout of them was Kaio beated Baruto by way of Kotenage.

You know Kotenage?

Kotenage uses the leverage power.

Today's bout was also Kaio used Kotenage to throw Baruto to the edge of ring .

Baruto is still finding  his starting style.

He seems to be struggled.

Sumo is very simple sport.
Physical condition and mental condition have to be balanced.

Baruto!!,pls do morning exercise and warming up before bout."shiko" "teppo" many times.
And make your strat more quickly and severe to opponent.

Today's opponent is Ozeki Kaio who is 36 years old veteran but has scored 3 continuous wins from the first day.
Kaio's best style is left arm under right hand over which is same style as Baruto.

Baruto has not won against Kaio unti this tournament.

Perfect win!
Baruto did not allow Kaio to be grasped by Kaio's right arm over.
But Baruto could grasp Kaio's belt by both arms (right hand over left hand under).
This was the point Baruto won.

After bout ,Baruto shook his head maybe because of some hurts around neck and left shoulder.
I guess Baruto needed full power over his limits.

In the interview after bout,he was asked "How distance of ability between upper rankers do you feel now?"
and he answered "I should have sef -confidence ".

Kaio is one of Ozeki(=champion) and has a good physical status still now even if his age.
kaio's strong style is Hidari -Yotu(=Right hand cross over).
Baruto's strong style is Migi-Yotu(=Left hand cross over).

Unfortunately Baruto made Kaio in his style.

I think this match was very good experience for baruto.
because Baruto is first rank of Megashira,,heis only a challenger this time.
He has to learn more to skill up.
