Nihon Sumo Kyokai announced "Kakuryu need 14 wins for ozeki." in the beginning of this tournament.

So hehas already failed the exam.

But to be an Ozeki candidate,hecan not lose any more.

Baruto showed a powerful sumo yesterday against Aran.

Tsuridashi is Baruto's extreme submission.

Baruto sumoed with carefullness.

Baruto waited for the time Kauku's rushing.

I think only Baruto can do pull up with doble outside grip!!!!

I want Baruto to shape up tsuridashi skill more to be his special one.

Today is the 8th day of this tournament.
It is called "Naka-Bi".

Baruto meets Rusian Aran Maegashira #3.
He has not won in this tournamanet.




Baruto got his style easily.
Aran tried to show his power but Baruto showed his power.

The spectaculars was made a big stir by Baruto Tsuridashi.

Our Baruto meets Komusubi Goeido.

Goeido 4wins to Baruto 6 wins were past result.

How do you think first day bout?

I think Baruto's new tactics was "Hari-Dashi".

When he started,Baruto slapped Goeido's cheek.

This tactics sometimes makes opponent lost his rushing power.

Baruto gripped outside but his waist position was still high.

I have mentioned this high waist position matter.

But first day's win was the best result.

Day7 Baruto meets 1-5 Maegashira #3 Kitataiki.

How do you think Baruto's sumo in this touranment?

The starting is still high position but his stepping forward is very quick.

This is his good motin inthis tournament.

Kitataiki tied change at the starting.

But Baruto's rushing pressure did not allow Kitataiki changed.

Kyokutenho is very veteran wrestler from Mongol.

Past result is 8-4 for Baruto.

Baruto started with "Nodowa"(=pushing throat ) and took right outside grip.

Baruto perfectly got his style.

Kyokutenho could not do anything in this "Yotsu-Sumo"(=grip each other)

Baruto stpped forward with pulling up Kyokutenho.

Baruto won this tournament "Kachi-Koshi"(=over 8 wins).

Baruto grasped opponent bel by right hand over at the start.

Once Toyonoshima rushed forward but Baruto swang Toyonoshima with uplifting .

Baruto power was mightier than small Toyonoshima......

This tournament Baruto was lack of impact to sumo fans.

He had not defeated 2 Yokozunas yet.

He unfortunately prove his sumo style was not fixed.

High body start was a bad habit.

Every sumo fans wonder why he lost last tournament's pushing start.

Final score is 9wins 6 losses.

Last septenmber tournament Baruto marked 12wins.

Total wins are 21 wins par 2 tournaments at "SANYAKU"(=over komusubi rank) position.

As I said before,

I think he needs 14 over wins in next January tournament to promote to Ozeki.

Or over 12 wins with Emperor's trophy.

But the point is not only total wins but also the imapct to fans.

Baruto should be a wrestler to frighten Yokozuna and to defeat lower rankers surely.

Anyway We Baruto fans know he will be a Yokozuna someday.

Harumafuji is not well in this tournament.

His score until yesterday was 3 wins 4 losts.

I think he lost his style to get "Maemitsu" at start.

He does not have a huge body size so ,if he lost his rocket start,

it means ,,,,,you can guess.

Baruto pulled up Harumafuji and swang him out of ring.
But ring side judges said "Monoii" and re-judged about Baruto steppe out before Harumafuji feet on the ground.
The conclusion was Baruto's win but I really wonder if he did "Isamiashi".

We have six grand sumo tournaments in a year.

• Jan:Hatsu-Basho or Ichigatsu-Basho (Tokyo)
• March:Haru-Basho or Sangatsu-Basho (Osaka)
• May:Natsu-Basho or Gogatsu-Basho(Tokyo)
• July:Nagoya-Basho or Shichigatsu-Basho (Nagoya)
• Sep:Aki-Basho or Kugatsu-Basho (Tokyo)

Now Kyushu-basho is held at Fukuoka Kokusai Center

The capacity is 7000 seats.

But we can see many vacant seats through my video.

Day15 vs Kotoshogiku (Nagoya-Basho 2009 July)

Today's bout has a big meaning for Baruto fans.

If Baruto won today,he marks 11 wins.

It means Baruto will be Komusubi next tournament.

And also it means this tournament is beginning for promoting to Ozeki.

To promote to Ozeki, a wrestler is needed at least over 33wins before promotion.

What an amazing Sumo!

Baruto passed 11 wins line!

In this tournament,He did not fight against Yokozuna.

And no wins were gotten from Ozekis.

So the fact Baruto defeated Kisenosato sekiwake and Kotoshogiku komusubi is very important.

Shoterno is from Mongol ,27 years old,189cm tall wrestler.

Today is first bout between them.

Shoternro had no fear of Baruto's power.

This was his failure.

Baruto got his Sumo style easily.

He could pull up Shotenro with full power.

In starting,Baruto tried to push with "HAZE-OSHI".

This was a good tactic for him.

Harumafuji is new born Ozeki.
He has changed his name from Ama to Harumafuji.

Past result was 4 wins Hatumafuji and 2 wins Baruto.
Both has already decided "KACHIKOSHI"=Over 8 wins.

To memorize this tournament as a good start of 2009 ,Baruto has to get victory today.



Every sumo fans are surprized with this bout.
Baruto lifted harumafuji 's left thigh by his right arm and also pulled Harumafuji's belt by his left arm.

Everybody re-noticed Baruto's power .

Baruto marked 9 wins 6 losses.
After 7 wins,Baruto lost his way.
But last 2 days victories lead Baruto to remember his style.

I am sorry to be late for uploading video and updateing blog .

Baruto is doing really good in this tournament.

Point is he never pull and concentrate at the beginning (=tachiai).

Asasekiryu is a Mongolian Rikishi(=wrestle) and Maegashira#5 ranker.

Past results between Baruto and Asasekiryu are 3-4.

Asasekiryu's result until yesterday is 3 wins 5 losses.

I think Asasekiryu is loosing his style in this tournament.

Day15 vs Kakuryu (Kugatu-Basho 2008 Sep)

If Baruto wins today,he will be upper ranker SEKIWAKE in the next tournament.

If he losses today,he will lost KOMUSUBI position in the next tournament.

There are big differences between 7wins 8losses(=MAKEKOSHI)  and 8wins 7losses(=KACHIKOSHI) .

They fought three times!

First was judged Kakuryu's step out and Baruto's step out timing was same.

So they did TORINAOSHI(=re-fight)

Second was judged Baruto did not touch ground enough at staring.

Third was Baruto used hid body size enough.

First fight Baurto should shift hs waist positon lower not to step out his left leg.

I think Baruto thought Kakuryu would be injured if he continued to rash.

This is baruto's kind scene maybe because he has known sadness of injured time.

I want to emphasize Baruto is a very strong with hearty and kind finghter.

Yes,Baruto used his genuine body size in a right way.
Kotoshogiku is a small fighter,so this kind of Tsuridashi skil is very clever way.

Takamisakari is ranked Maegashira #8.

His ceremony before fight is very attractive and make Sumo fan to be excited.

Today Baruto got ( wins so, he reached to "Kachikoshi"(=over 8 wins).
So he was taken a interview after this fight.
