Kokkai is also from Europe.
Kokkai and Baruto likes to grip each other.

Baruto had to show his power,,,,,but I think he has already given up in this Natubasho Tournament.
This is not good .

Baruto got his 9th losts today.

He lost his balance when he changed position with turning.

I think Baruto's lower extremity is not enought to stand for shifting weight quickly now.

He is needed to make his knee stronger.....

Yes! Baruto did it!
Today's style was his best way to win.
If he gripps Mawashi(=belt), he can do his best.

Day10 vs Kisenosato (Gogatu-Basho 2008)

Kisenosato is a good fighter to defeat Asashouryu in this tournament.
He sometimes defeat upper ranked fighter but sometimes lost by lower ranker by easy mistake.

Today 's match is also typical one for Kisenosato.

Baruto did no good style today.

I want Baruto to find his rush style not to pull.

Baruto marked second win.(7lost).

Baruto lost today again.
He marked 8 losts, so He was Makekoshi in this Gogatu-Basho.

Baruto could not get his style to grasp Kotoshougiku Mawashi at all.
Kotoshougiku rushed forward with waist going down gradually(=Gaburi-Yori).

Today's lost was really severe outcome for Baruto.

Kyokutenho is ranked MAEGASHIRA#2,,this means BARUTO finished fight against Rankers above BARUTO until yesterday.
For BARUTO,from Day1 to Day 6 ,He could not get prize of wins against upper rankers.

Day4 vs Kotomituki (Gogatu-Basho 2008)

Today's BARUTO  fought with Ozeki KOTOMITUKI.

KOTOMITUKI is really good Sumo-Tori(wrestler) in this age.

He has already reached to 32 years old.

I thought he could be a Yokozuna soon when he came to Maku-Uchi.

But he could not be,,,,the reason is that he is too kind and sweet to be a Yokozuna.

Anyway I thought he recieved Baruto boldly before this fight.

This match was nice .

 BARUTO should rush when he gripped with his right hand over to KOTOMITUKI's Mawashi(= belt).

BARUTO has a chance to win if he minds his style  to rush when he is in good style.

Do not hesitate to rush,BARUTO!!

Day3 vs HAKUHOU (Gogatu-Basho 2008)

DAY1 vs  KAIO                 ---------------lost

DAY2 vs ASASHOURYU ---------------lost

If Baruto is lost today(DAY3:May13), it is his first time to record three losts from first day.

Today's still hard wall exisited before Baruto.

The wall was Yokozuna HAKUHOU.

Baruto could not do anything against Yokozuna,,,,

Day2 vs ASASHOURYU (Gogatu-Basho 2008)

Today(May12/2008),our BARUTO challenged Yokozuna(=grand Champion) ASASHOURYU.

This was BARUTO'S second challenge to ASASHOURYU .

First Challenge was in  2006 Autumn before his knee injury.

Sumo fun's point of view was how BARUTO's power torment Yokozuna.

The match was BARUTO was completely defeated by ASASHOURYU.

BARUTO could not keep his Migi-Youtsu(=Right hand cross over) but ASASHOURYU got both hands just in front of BARUT0'S Mawashi(=belt) and Yokozuna kept his head to attaching BARUTO's breast.

This style is best strategy for smaller one to make him win.

ASASHOURYU is Yokozuna,so he did not have to adopt this strategy,the reason why Yokozuna chose this is ASASHOURYU was lost yesterday by KISENOSATO .

 

I think he really feels fear from BARUTO.

When BARUTO started to rush,Asashouryu pulled up BARUTO and using BARUTO'S Motion to broke down BARUTO'S body to ground.

BARUTO saw the ceiling of Dohyo(=Sand ring) but I  want to praise BARUTO today.

Because he could attack Yokozuna boldly.

First day vs Kaio ( Gogatu-basho 2008)

Kaio is one of Ozeki(=champion) and has a good physical status still now even if his age.
kaio's strong style is Hidari -Yotu(=Right hand cross over).
Baruto's strong style is Migi-Yotu(=Left hand cross over).

Unfortunately Baruto made Kaio in his style.

I think this match was very good experience for baruto.
because Baruto is first rank of Megashira,,heis only a challenger this time.
He has to learn more to skill up.

Go Baruto,,,Do not pull,,,just push push !

Oh Sumo Gogatu-basho starts today!

Oh Sumo Gogatu(=May)-basho(=tournament) will be held from May11 to May26.

I will report this tournament with video.

My favorite Sumo tori(=wrestler) is Baruto.
