Day7 Baruto vs Kakuryu (hastu-Basho 2012 Jan)

大相撲　初場所　第７日目。両国国技館。
Grand Sumo Tournament Hastu-Bahso day7. 2012/1/14.

Baruto(6-0) has Sekiwake Kakuryu(5-0).
Kakuryu is Ozeki candidate.
If he marks 14-0 in this tournament,he can pass 33 wins.
In Kisenosato's 32 wins case,Kakuryu need appeal to overcome upper rankers.
Kakuryu this tournament has already fought against 2 ozekis.
He defeated Ozeki Harumafuji and was defeated by Kisenosato.
I think today Kakuryu make his fight meaninfull.

Total victory!!!

Baruto got right outside grip and its position was good.
Baruto rushed immediately.

Kakuryu tried to counter left "Sukui Nage" with his arm up (="Kaina wo Kaesu") to dis-power Baruto left power. But Kakuryu could not stop Baruto"s force.

Day13 vs Kisenosato (Kyushu-Basho 2011 Nov)

Grand Sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho day14.

大相撲　九州場所　第１４日。

Our Baruto meets Sekiwake Kisenosato.

Needless to say,Kisenosato is challenging to promotion to Ozeki.

How to promote to Ozeki is 33 wins(par 3 touranment and at upper than komusubi and sekiwake) are magic number.

Kisenosato has to win 11 in this tournament.

But Kisenosato has already lost 3.

Past bout

2011 sep (click) :Baruto won. They gripped each other.

2011 July (click): Baruto won. They chose pushing start.

They chose "Yotsu Sumo" (=grip each other)

Kisenosato got left inside grip and right outside grip.

This was his best style "Hidari Yotsu".

Baruto first could not get grip.

So Kisenosato rushed but not completed to win.

Because Kisenosato right outside grip was loose and Baruto left inside gave him couter "Sukui Nage".

Baruto got both grip "Hidari Yostu".

Baruto and Kisenosato got their grip each other and motion was stopped.

"Gappuri Yostu"(=both favorite style grip and stop motion)

(The spectacular likes this status and claps their hands.)

The point is baruto power and Kisenosato"s right outside grip looseness.

New born Ozeki Kotoshogiku shape up his "Gaburi Yori" skill.

His basic tactic is right outside grip and left inside grip.

Baruto's basic grip style is left inside grip and right outside grip.

Friday night.

Baruto meets Tochinowaka maegashira #4.

He has 196cm 180kg age 23.

This is their first met in makuuchi division.

Tochinowka has marked 4 wins until day5.

Today Baruto chose both arms pushing (="morote duki").

It worked well!!

Tochinowaka has no speed starting.

Harumafuji this tournament challenged Yokozuna promotion. If Harumafuji gets14 wins or champion title,Haru gets Yokozuna status. But he has lost 4.... This is Baruto`s Sumo style all fans in Japan want. Grip belts and pull belts to disarm opponent power. ozeki Baruto W(Yorikiri)L Harumafuji Ozeki 9 wins 4 losts.

Day10 vs Tochiozan (Kugatsu Basho 2011 sep)

no video this day. Because of Typhoon no.15 was attacking Japan. Extra TV program had typhoon news so regular Sumo TV was sometimes cut. Anyway Baruto passed "Kachi koshi"!! Ozeki Baruto w(Yorikiri)L Tochiozan Maegashira#3 8 wins 2 losts!!

Day5 vs Toyonoshima (Kugatsu-Basho 2011 Sep)

Referee judged baruto win. But Baruto elbow down faster than Toyonoshima. After meeting "Monoiri" the judeges around ring confirmed Toyonoshima`s right foot touched to grand faster than Baruto elbow down. Ozeki Baruto W(Yorikiri)L Toyonoshima Komusubi 3 wins 2 losts.

First day vs Goeido:won by Tsuridashi.

Day2 vs Yoshikaze : won by Uwatedashinage.

And day3 Baruto meets Kyokutenho.

Kyokutenho is not a tricky wrestler.

Baruto has not been defeated by Kyokutenho for about 2 years.

It is the standard move to rush forward when opponent does "Makikaea(=outside to insaide grip)".

Todays Baruto did this standard move when Kyokutenho di "Makikae".

The point was Baruto grabbed Kaio's belt.

Baruto fights against Maegashira#4 Takekaze.

They fought about 2 years ago and Baruto lost.

It is not easy to understand that past result is 2 wins Baruto,3wins Takekaze.

Baruto these days could watch the opponent motion.

Stepping speed in the start was very quick.

Rushing forward was full throttle.

Kaisei who was from Barazil.This tournament is his first "Makuuchi".

Today he passed 8 wins line.

Kaisei is ranked in the bottom of Maegashira but new entery and first entry to Makuuchi is not easy. So his sumo style is very stable and logical.We have to keep waching him.

I got today's tournament ticket.

I went to "Kokigikan".

The seat was very close to the ring(="dohyo")

The ring in ceremony of East "Makuuchi Rikishi"

I shouted "Baruto!!!

Our Baruto meets Tochiozan who is ranked West-Maegashira#2.

Tochiozan has low starter.

"Yobidashi"(=Ring name call")

Left inside arm (="Hidari Shitate") was very effective.

Eve if Baruto cannot grip opponent belt, Baruto can lift up the opponent up and rush forward.

This style "hidari shitate"(=left inside arm) style (="migi Yostu") should be emphasized.

Yoshikaze is a small Japanese wrestler.
His sumo style is very honest never showed "henka"(=change at staritng).

Baruto wore silver new belt(="mawashi") from this tournament.

First day was "Kuro-boshi"(=lose).

But second and third day are "Shiro-Boshi"(=win).

I hope this new belt is new symbol of Baruto and Champion.

Our Baruto has Maegashira #5 Yoshikaze(5-5).

Yoshikaze has rushing style sumo.

Yohikaze showed good fight against Yokozuna yesterday.

Past result is Yoshikaze0-2Baruto.

Baruto did a good start.

In these days bouts, Baruto was keeping a good concentration on starting.

Baruto did not get both grips but fixed (="Kimeru") Yoshikaze's movement by right arm lock and went forwards to the ring edge with left arm pushing to armpit(="Haze-oshi).

Tochinoshin is 3 wins 5 loses till yesterday.

Tochinoshin this tournament has not gotten his sumo style yet.

Both tried to grip from beginning.

Baruto and Tochinshin tugged each other.

Tochinoshin tried to pull up but he couldn't.

Baruto tried to pull up and he could lift up Tochinoshin completely.

The point was baruto got left outside grip.

Asyou know,Tochiozan is developing his sumo basho by basho.

His start position is very low and his rushing is very sharp.

Past is 9 wins' baruto only 1 win's Tchiozan.

This bout was Baruto's fastest one in this tournament.

Easy bout. His starting was very excellent.

Baruto succeeded in stoppig Tochiozan's sharp start.
