Grand Sumo Tournament 2010 Jan Hatsu-Basho Day 11

Asashoryu has one lose. It was unlucky lose by Goeido.

Baruto has two loses by Kisenosato and Toyonoshima.

To promote to Ozeki,Today's bout are very impotant.

Baruto started with lower position than usual.

But Asashoryu's start was quicker and lower than Baruto.

The point was Asashoryu gripped nice position by left arm.

Asashoryu tried not to allow Baruto to grip belt.

Baruto attempeted to grip belt, then Asashoryu pulled up Baruto and threw by "Shitatenage".

Baruto lost today, but nothing has been changed.

Our Baruto are improving to be tomorrow Yokozuna.

Day9 vs Asashoryu (Kyusu-Basho 2009 Nov)

This is Baruto's 8th challenge to Yokozuna Asashoryu.

Until 7th,no win for Baruto.

To promotoe to ozeki for Baruto,To defeat Yokozuna is a must item.

Baruto today showed a low position attack at starting and a quick step forward.

But Baruto could not keep low position and could not push Yokozuna out of ring.

Yokozuna counterattacked with "Maemitsu."

Baruto could not get Yokozuna's belt.

When Baruto tried to grasp belt,

Yokozuna made Baruto unballanced and threw him to ground.

Baruto did not win but he showed us he was improving.

Day1 vs Asashoryu (Kugatsu-Basho 2009 Sep)

Komusubi ranker has to fight upper ranker from beginning of tournament.

Today's bout is touch stone for both Baruto and Asashoryu.

Day9 vs Asashoryu (Haru-Basho 2009 March)

Asashoryu this tournament has been continuing perfect wins from first day.

Asa=Mornining
Sho=blue
Ryu=Dragon

Good name,I think, Dragon stand for meaning of promotion from ancient east asia legend.

His condition is perfect now like a dragon.

Baruto ,I think, his condition is getting better.




Yesterday's bout vs Hakuho and today's bout vs Asashoryu ,both bouts are really big bout.

Both Yokozunas think Baruto as a rival.

Baruto! Your way is right way in Sumo.
Even if you lost today,you will get right ability of sumo near future.

Day11 vs Asashoryu (Hatsu-Basho 2009 Jan)

The point of this bout is whether Baruto holdAsashoryu's belt or not.

In the start,Baruto shifted to right to hold Asa's belt by right arm outside.
This was Baruto's first time to hold Asa's belt.
But the position of holding lead to Baruto's loose.

This position is called "TATEMITSU"
It means far grip position.

Baruto coul not pull but he tried to pull and gradually Baruto's body go upright because of his grip position.
Baruto made himself bad situation.

Then Asshoryu rushed forward.

I hope Baruto do not shift.

Day1 vs Asashoryu (Kugatu-Basho 2008 Sep)

Sumo world is surrounded by a big scandal now.

But 1st day of Kugatu(=Sep)-Basho was held.

Baruto met a big wall from 1st day.

Asashoryu is Yokozuna and Baruto had not been able to win until today.

Baruto is ranked Komusubiin this tournament.

This is his first time to be ranked Komusubi,it means he has to fight against upper ranked from beginning.

The result was not bad.

Baruto could gripped Yokozuna's belt and could make Yokozuna feel pressure,so

Yokozuna pulled .

This meant Baruto did a  good fight.

Day2 vs ASASHOURYU (Gogatu-Basho 2008)

Today(May12/2008),our BARUTO challenged Yokozuna(=grand Champion) ASASHOURYU.

This was BARUTO'S second challenge to ASASHOURYU .

First Challenge was in  2006 Autumn before his knee injury.

Sumo fun's point of view was how BARUTO's power torment Yokozuna.

The match was BARUTO was completely defeated by ASASHOURYU.

BARUTO could not keep his Migi-Youtsu(=Right hand cross over) but ASASHOURYU got both hands just in front of BARUT0'S Mawashi(=belt) and Yokozuna kept his head to attaching BARUTO's breast.

This style is best strategy for smaller one to make him win.

ASASHOURYU is Yokozuna,so he did not have to adopt this strategy,the reason why Yokozuna chose this is ASASHOURYU was lost yesterday by KISENOSATO .

 

I think he really feels fear from BARUTO.

When BARUTO started to rush,Asashouryu pulled up BARUTO and using BARUTO'S Motion to broke down BARUTO'S body to ground.

BARUTO saw the ceiling of Dohyo(=Sand ring) but I  want to praise BARUTO today.

Because he could attack Yokozuna boldly.
