Day15 vs Chiyotaikai (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Ozeki Chiyotaikai is 33years old ,has stayed at Ozeki over 60 tournament.
His rushing style is brilliant if his elbow is not injured.
He has marked 7 wins until yesterday. He marked "Makekoshi" in the last tournamaent.
I f he lost today,he will loose his Ozeki position because of two continuos "Makekoshi".

We Baruto fan need one more win even though Chiyotaikai is lost his Ozeki position.

Baruto in this tournament got an ankle injured at first day.
That was why he could not start at lower position and easy to loose his balance.

From today onward,Baruto's sumo has to be improved.

We hope we can see a new born Baruto next tournament Nagoya-Basho begins on July 12th.

Day14 vs Takekaze (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Today's opponent is Maegashira #2 ranker Takekaze.
He is 29 year old, 170cm and 144kg whose stable is OGURUMA.
His Sumo style is pusher .
Typical bout between small wrestler vs big wrestler........

I think Everybody and Baruto himself think Baruto needs to make his lower body stability stronger.

Day13 vs Goeido (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Today's opponent is Goeido.
He is a 183cm,138kg,23years old sekiwake ranker.
He has marked 5 wins 7 losses.
He defeated Ozekis in early days of  this tournament but
he has lost his style now a days and now he stands at the edge.

Baruto used Goeido rushing power and lifted up Goeido with leverage power of "Kote"

Baruto need nutrition of wins.

Day12 vs Harumafuji (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Today's opponent Harumafuji has already marked 11wins.
No looser in this touranment are only Hakho and Harumafuji until now.

Baruo has already fallen into Makekoshi.

Our Baruto has never been a looser while wishing to win.

Harumafuji thought he won't be grasped his belt by Baruto.

So he started with this kind of pushing style today.

Harumafuji strategy 's victory.

A samll wrestler think much to survive.

A big wrestler should think how to use his size to survive.

Day11 vs Kotooshu (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Today Baruo marked 8 losses.....
It means "Makekoshi".
He will fall down Sekiwake rank in the next tournament.

BUT BARUTO! Do not have to give up!
The point is how many wins Baruto is able to add more wins to the end of this tournament.

If the final score is marked 7 wins 8 losses, there is a possibility to stay in Komusubi .....

Japanese like this kind of mentality,,,no giving up.

Baruto! Makekoshi is not end of the world.
Even if you have a injured ankle, you can show your spirits to all fans of you.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Today's Baruto oppnent is Yokozuna Asashoryu.
This great Yokozuna has been lost by Baruto.

Now Baruto's score is 3 wins 6 losses.

If he lost today,it will be very difficult for Baruto to keep staying at sekiwake (contender to Ozeki) position .
As you know, 8 losses means "MAKEKOSHI" and going down a ranking.

Today's bout is very important.

So   I hope You Estonian readers give him message  to make him encourage.

Please post your comments in LANGUAGE of ESTONIA which let BARUTO's SOUL MOVED directly.

Day9 vs Aminishiki (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Today's opponent AMINISHIKI was Maegashira #1 ranker,30years old,185cm tall and 144kg.
Skillful wrestler.

Baruto rushed forward but his waist position was very high and his steping way was not good.
Sumo wrestles should step without hopping.
"Suri-Ashi" is the best.

Aminishiki was pushed but was changing his body to right with pushing "Hidari-Dashinage" Baruto.

Almost same time.

But Referee called Aminishiki as a winner.....

Rushing forward is good.
But Starting and rushing should be lower....Baruto.

I guess his knee and ankle is not good condition.

sekiwake BARUTO  ×(UWATEDASHINAGE)○ AMINISHIKI  maegashira #1

3wins 6 losses.

Baruto will fight against Yokozuna ASASHORYU tomorrow.

OK, we know which will be a winner.

Day8 vs Homasho (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Today's opponent is  Maegashira #1 Homasho.
He is 187 cm tall,152kg.
He is very polite and  is never seen to shift at starting.

Baruto sumoed very well today!!!

Yesterday's bout reminded Baruto his sumo style.

Starting with one step forward was very aggressive .
"Hidari-Yotsu"(left arm under, right arm over) was gotten quickly.

Homasho is not small "Rikishi" but easy to be pulled up by Baruto.

Perfect! BARUTO!

Day7 vs Hakuho (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Hakuho defeats opponents to perfection in this tournament.
His skill and speed and power are at full throttle now.

Baruto has never won against this yokozuna yet.
But Baruto showed his best in past two bouts against Hakuho.

The Kokugikan(name of stadium) 's spectaculars were heated-up!

Hakuho knows Yokozuna has to play like a champion in every fight.
Baruto showed a good start.
Hakuho recieved Baruto's full power.

Baruto got his style so that he pulled Hakuho once a little !!!
Baruto !!!!
I shouted at full throttle!

When Baruto tried to pull again,Yokozuna  pushed Baruto's right thigh with doing right "uwatenage"

As you know, Baruto has a injury in his right ankle after first day bout.

Baruto lost his balance....at this moment.

But I think Baruto showed his best bout among all bouts in this tournament
evev if he lost.

We need Baruto not to forget today's start  and his "Hidari-Yoysu" style.

sekiwake BARUTO ×(UWATEDASHINAGE)○ HAKUHO yokozuna

2 wins 5 losses

I am proud of you ,Baruto!

Day7 Best Bouts (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Takamisakari vs Tochinoshin

Takamisakari is Maegashira #12 ranker which means he is not strong enough in Makunouhi devision. But he is very popular among all Japanes Sumo fans.
He appears in TV CM many times.
Do you know why?
You may understand the reason as soon as watching today's video.

Takamisakri marked 6 wins 1 loss.

Harumafuji vs Kakuryu

Harumafuji regains his speed.

Harumafuji marked 7 wins!!

Day6 vs Kaio (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Today is the day Baruto's 200 times Makuuchi division appearance .

Kaio is one of five Ozeki.
Last bout of them was Kaio beated Baruto by way of Kotenage.
You know Kotenage?
Kotenage uses the leverage power.

Today's bout was also Kaio used Kotenage to throw Baruto to the edge of ring .

Baruto is still finding  his starting style.
He seems to be struggled.

Day5 vs Kotomitsuki (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Kotomitsuki is an Ozeki and has marked 3wins 1 loss until yesterday.

Kotomitsuki sumo really good today.
He was skillfull in this bout.

I hope Baruto learned much through Kotomitsuki 's "Mae-sabaki".

Day4 vs Tochiozan (Gogatsu-Basho 2009 May)

Tochiozan is a new born komusubi ranker.
Past results between them are Baruto's 4 wins no losses.

Tochiozan is 22years Japanese Rikishi ,Stable Kasugano Beya.
He is 188cm tall and 150kg weight.

His fighting style is a rusher.
Baruto strated with high waist position and loose arm position.

I have to say Baruto has not got his top form yet.

The point why Baruto won today was Tochiozan rushed with high waist position.
Rushing with lower waist position is very important.

Baruto won but he shook his head when he went out of ring.

Maybe because he know today's Sumo is not his own style.
Far from perfection indeed.

sekiwake BARUTO ○(KOTENAGE)×  TOCHIOZAN komusubi

2wins 2 losses.

Baruto!  We love you! Continue to be perseverance.

Kakuryu is a new born Komusubi.
He is mongolian with 185 cm tall, 138 kg.

Congratulation !!! Kaido!!!

You think too much about how to fight until yesterday.
As you know, Sumo is very simple sports.

You have long legs ,,,,but you should make your body lower with knee benting.
You have long arms,,,but you should make your arms tightly attaching to your bodyside.
You have huge body sizw,,,,but you should not forget rush forward not to wait for opponent rushing.

Today you sumo very smartly.

Today is the day you start a Gogatsu-Basho with new idea.

He was ranked Sekiwake in the past.

His ring name(=Shiko Na) is Tama (=round,jewel ) No(=of) Shima(=island),,,
so ,,,,,Island of Jewels.

Tamanoshima rushed forward with pushing Baruto's armpits .
Baruto's arms are sometimes not made tight to trunk in starting.

Tamanoshima did really good!
Nothing to say.
