Kotoshogiku won harumafuji yesterday.
Kotoshogiku has already passed 33 wins line
for promotion of Ozeki .
Chief of judgement section Takanohana Oyakata offered
to "Rijicho"(=Hanaregoma Oyakata)
to hold the meeting to decide Ozeki promotion
the day after tomorrow.
This means Kotoshogiku Ozeki promotion is almost decided.

This tournament record until yesterday is

3 lost Sekiwake Kisenosato.

If kisenosat wins and Hakuho/Kotoshogiku loose,play-off by three will be held.

Anyway our Baruto has to win to show Ozeki`s dignity to new Ozeki.

Kotoshogiku seemed to be hasty and failed starting once.
Baruto got grip,then Kotoshogiku had no chance.

Today`s Bartuo showed a good sumo really.

For next tournament,I want to shape his grip style sumo for all opponents .

And today is the last day of chief referee Kimura Shonosuke.
Kimura Shonosuke is not his real name.
This name is kind of status of chief referee.
He always judge the last bout of day.
His career is 51 years !!!

Day14 vs Hakuho (Kugatsu-Basho 2011)

Baruto meets yokozuna Hakuho today. Hakuho lost 2 (by Kotoshogiku,Kisenosato). Baruto showed his good sumo yesterday against harumafuji. Baruto has already lost 5 but ozeki should show his sprit as an Ozeki.

 We call this kind of power to power fight "O Sumo"(=grand sumo). Baruto was defeated but he showed his sumo. I think Baruto continue to do this starting and concentrate on gripping belt first. Ozeki Baruto L(Uwatedashinage)w Hakuho Yokozuna 9 wins 5 losts.

Day13 vs Harumafuji (Kugatsu-Basho 2011 Sep)

Harumafuji this tournament challenged Yokozuna promotion. If Harumafuji gets14 wins or champion title,Haru gets Yokozuna status. But he has lost 4.... This is Baruto`s Sumo style all fans in Japan want. Grip belts and pull belts to disarm opponent power. ozeki Baruto W(Yorikiri)L Harumafuji Ozeki 9 wins 4 losts.

Day12 vs Kakuryu (Kugatsu-Basho 2011 Sep)

Kakuryu this tournament challenged ozeki promotion. Kakuryu had 22 wins in last 2 tournaments. If Kakuryu got 11 wins, Kakuryu promote to Ozkei. But he has already lost 6... I hope next ozkei candidate shoul not do this kind of starting "henka". Baruto lost target. Spectaculars in "Kokugikan" breath big sigh. Day11 vs Gagamaru (Kugatsu-Basho 2011 Sep)

Gagamaru this tournament has already gotten 9 wins. Gagamaru from Georgia and his stable is Kitanoumi who was former great Yokozuna in 70`s. Gagamaru is ranked Maegashira#11 so ordinary this ranker does not fight against Ozeki but 9 wins and his sumo style this tournament is fantastic. Low waist position and his weight make his stability much. Pushing each other!!! But Gagamaru pushing is more powerful than baruto. The point is waist position. Baruto should fight with lower postion and concentrate on grip belt, I think Ozeki Baruto L(Okuridashi)W Gagamaru Maegashira #11 8 wins 3 losts

Day10 vs Tochiozan (Kugatsu Basho 2011 sep)

no video this day. Because of Typhoon no.15 was attacking Japan. Extra TV program had typhoon news so regular Sumo TV was sometimes cut. Anyway Baruto passed "Kachi koshi"!! Ozeki Baruto w(Yorikiri)L Tochiozan Maegashira#3 8 wins 2 losts!!

Day9 vs Kisenosato (Kugatsu-Basho 2011 Sep)

Sekiwake Kisenosato has already gotten 8 wins with no lost on yesterday. Kisenosato last two tournament has 8 wins and 10 wins = total 18 wins. Basical ozeki magic number is 33 wins per 3 tournament. So Kisenosato this tournament has to win 15 wins or champion. Good fight,Baruto!!! The point is Baruto got nice grip position. Baruto is really getting better! Day8 vs Tochinoshin (Kugatsu-Basho 2011 Sep)

Nice pushing start and good grip position. If Baruto gripped belt in chest to chest position,no rikishis beat Baruto. Ozeki Baruto w(Yorikiri)L Tochinoshin Maegashira#4 6 wins 2 losts. Go Baruto!!!

Day7 vs Takekaze (Kugatsu-Basho 2011 Sep)

I think all spectacular in Kokugikan thought Takekaze would win by "Okuridashi" But our Baruto won........ Takekaze was too hasty. His step work lost ballans. Ozeki Baruto W(Tsukiotoshi)L Takekaze maegashira#3 5 wins 2 losts.

Day6 vs Wakanosato (Kugatsu-Bahsho 2011 Sep)

Nice pushing and good waist position and nice foot work. Ozeki Baruto W(Oshidashi)L wakanosato Maegashira#2 4 wins 2 losts. Baruto is getting better!!

Day5 vs Toyonoshima (Kugatsu-Basho 2011 Sep)

Referee judged baruto win. But Baruto elbow down faster than Toyonoshima. After meeting "Monoiri" the judeges around ring confirmed Toyonoshima`s right foot touched to grand faster than Baruto elbow down. Ozeki Baruto W(Yorikiri)L Toyonoshima Komusubi 3 wins 2 losts.

Day4 vs Okinoumi (Kugatsu-Bahso 2011 Sep)

Better than yesterday. Okinoumi does not have speed. Baruto could push well. Today`s pushing style looked very powerful. Because Pushing orbit started from inside. Inside means elbows were not wide. Day3 vs Yoshikaze (Kugatsu-Basho 2001 Sep)

Yoshikaze thought well his tactics. The point of this bout was Baruto`s high waist position. Baruto was upset by Yoshikaze`s speed. I think Baruto should not choose pushing start. Ozeki Baruto L(Yorikiri)L Yoshikaze Maegashira #2 1 win 2 losts.....

Hi guys!!

I have been spending busy days
so I could not update this tournament articles.
I have to say sorry to Sumo funs and Baruto mania.
Today  I am off and I  know today is last day of this tournament.
At first ,I will update Baruto Day2 to Day14videos and articles.
Other bouts videos and articles of Hakuho ,Kotoshogiku,Kisenosato,Kotooshu,Harumafuji
 are uploaded lately .

Day1 vs Homasho (Kugatsu-Basho 2011 Sep)

Grand Sumo Tournament Kugastu-Basho starts today.

The point is the ranking.


3 sekiwakes include 2 candidates for Ozeki promotion.
Kakuryu and Kotoshogiku.
"33 wins par 3 tournament" is the cutting line.

Ozeki Harumafuji challenges for Yokozuna promotion.
"This tournament champion or over 14 wins"
Harumafuji after ozeki promotion got knee injuries.
But he seems to be a good physical condition now.
Now is the time for promotion.

Today our Baruto has Maegashira No.1 Homasho.
Homasho is very polite and bows deeply to opponents every bout.

I think Baruto likes this type wrestler.
Not tricky.
Big target.

Baruto knows well why he lost today.

Why chose pushing start?

Why not grip belt?

Why select pulling?

Sumo is the shortest fight in the world.

Mental condition appears to the bout.

I think Baruto should grip Homasho's belt first.

Even if Hamsho is big to be pushed easily,Baruto should not push.

In the last tournament,Baruto selected not  pushing start but trying to grip first....

Anyway we can do now is we shout "Baruto" "Come on!!"
