Baruto recorded 12 wins.

Finally 3 losers Hakuho, Baruto,Toyohibiki are next positon of "Yusho" race.

He beated Hakuho and 4 ozekis in this tournament.

But his total wins within 3 tournaments are 33.

I think his promotion to Ozeki status after this tournament will not be decided.

Japan Sumo Association does not tell officially in which case filled with to be able to promote to ozeki.

If we learn psat cases,
Ozeki candidate needs

• over 33 wins including at least tropy once in past 3 tournanaments.
• or over 34 wins including 2 times upper than second positions in past 3 tournaments.
• or over 35 wins is enough
• but in any cases above mentioned,staying at upper than "SANYAKU" is favorable.

Everybody knows Baruto has ability as same as now ozekis.

And it is true,Ozeki promotion condition is very high.

Do you know why?

I think Ozeki shuould be Yokozuna candidate.

Ozeki promotion is considered the step to Yokozuna.

If Baruto records 12 over wins with second postion in the next Haru-Basho March , he must promote to Ozeki.

But I think Ozeki is not final goal for Baruto.

He is the man to promote to Yokozuna some day.

12wins are not enough.

Emperio's cup is needed.

I want Baruto to have strong wish to be Yokozuna.

大相撲 初場所　十三日目

3 losers have a chance to get "Yusho"

Both Aminishiki and Baruto are 9 wins 3 loses.

Aminishiki has a his sumo style.

Baruto lost his "Tachiai"(=starting).

High waist position and dull stepping forward.

Aminishiki attached his head to Baruto and rush forwars.

It seems to be end of Baruto.

But Baruto tried to throw by his left arm.

Oh,my! Bauto body was dead body but Aminishiki's arm reached to grand almost same timing.

The referee judged BAruto win.

The judges raised their hands to claim "Monoiri".

After the judges meeting,head judge announced "Dou Tai"(=same timing)

and "Torinaoshi"(=re-bout).

I think Baruto had time to reflect his startng at first bout.

Baruto did a good "Tachiai" with low and quick stepping.

Aminishiki could not do anything this time.

Baruto still has a chance to get "Yousho"

Baruto meets Goeido.

Goeido defeated Yokozuna Asashoryu in this tournament.

Past result between them was 4 wins Baruto and 3 wins Goeido.

Baruto has to show his sprits.

Goeido used "KAWARIMI"(=changing at start).

Baruto could not do front attack.

Goeido attached his head to Baruto's breast.

This was good tactics of small wrestler against big wrestler.

Goeido pushed forward.

But Baruto pulled up Goeido with his powerfull right biceps.

Somebody said this was not smart sumo style.

I think win is win.

Baruto could keep 3 loses!!

Asashoryu has one lose. It was unlucky lose by Goeido.

Baruto has two loses by Kisenosato and Toyonoshima.

To promote to Ozeki,Today's bout are very impotant.

Baruto started with lower position than usual.

But Asashoryu's start was quicker and lower than Baruto.

The point was Asashoryu gripped nice position by left arm.

Asashoryu tried not to allow Baruto to grip belt.

Baruto attempeted to grip belt, then Asashoryu pulled up Baruto and threw by "Shitatenage".

Baruto lost today, but nothing has been changed.

Our Baruto are improving to be tomorrow Yokozuna.

Baruto meets Toyonoshima.

Baruto has not been defeated by Toyonoshima.

Before bout, most of sumo fans thought Baruto would pulled up Toyonoshima out of ring.

Baruto tried to grasp the belt over Toyonoshima shoulder.

But Toyonoshima rushed forward and his big belly did not allow Baruto to grasp belt....

Baruto lost his balance.....

Who thought this end?

But this is sumo.

Grand Sumo Tournament Day9 has a Big European Guys Bout.

BARUTO vs KOTOOSHU

Ozeki Kotooshu from Bulgaria has marked 7 wins.

Our Baruto also has reached to 7 wins.

Winner this bout can reach to 8 wins.

It means "KACHIKOSHI"(=over 8 wins) and surviver for Emperor's trophy.

I think today's bout is Baruto's best one in his career.

Excellent starting.

Left arm position killed Koto's right arm by "OTTUKE"(=tightening opponent arm).

Head attached to Koto's breast made Koto's body upward.

Stepping forward with pulling belt was perfect.

All skills are very excellent.

In the interview, Baruo was asked

"You can get "Yousho"(=victory of this tournament champion trophy), can't you?"

Baruto answered

"it is very long way from now. I should concentrate on every bout"

"I have tense because I am human (laughing voice by surrounders ,,,hahahha)"

I think the key bouts are vs Asashoryu, vs Aminishiki,vs Goeido.

Asa has never allowed Baruto to win.

Aminishiki keeps his style in this tournament,

Goeido is becoming in excellent condition.

To promote to ozeki, Baruto should get 14 wins or over 12 wins with trophy as I wrote in the begging of this tournament.

But even if Baruto does not get trophy,if he get 13 wins or over 12 wins including win for Asashoryu,the possibility to promote to ozeki rank becomes realistic.

Big chance is coming to Baruto now.

Anyway We know who is the best ! It is BARUTO!

Baruto meets Ozeki Harumafuji.

Harumafuji is also co-leader ((6 wins 1 lose).

To promote to Ozeki,Baruto has to survive "Yusho" race.

Harumafuji tried Baruto not to grasp Harumafuji belt.

So Harumafuji took a distance away from Baruto.

But this Harumafuji's way made lost Harumafuji's power to rush forward.

Baruto used his body size merit and only he did was just waiting.

After Baruto grasped Harumafuji's belt,Baruto pulled up Harumafuji and stepped forward.

Good job!

Yesterday's win for Hakuho influenced Harumafuji thought,I think.

"Baruto is not Baruto in the past."

Day7 vs Hakuho (Hatsu-Basho 2010 Jan)

Yes,He did!!!!!!

Our Baruto defeated Yokozuna Hakuho!

Today is the day Baruto jumps up to next stage.

As we knew much, our Baruto has not gotten wins from both yokozunas.

And we have been wishing much Baruto to get win for Yokozunas.

Hakuho vs Baruto in the past were 11 wins's Hakuho vs 0 wins's Baruto.

But I think Hakuho feels something fear by Baruto.

Before this tournament,Hakuho answered to TV interview and he said,

"I have been polishing up "UCHIGAKE". When I meet a big wrestler,it is effective"

When I watched this interview,I can guess easily that Hakuho's big wrestler meant Baruto.

Do you remember?

Last bout took a long time. If Baruto did not wait much,there was possibility fro Baruto victory.

Hakuho defeated Baruto by way of "Uchigake" at last.

But I never heard a Yokozuna sharpens a tricky submission like "Uchigake"

Because Yokozuna should fight straight and receive opponent's skill fully and overpower opponent. This is Yokozuna.

I think Hakuho felt Baruto improving.

That was why Hakuho spoke about Uchigake unconsciously in the interview.

As for Baruto,Day5 and 6 bouts had a speed dash.

Baruto is becoming in excellent condition.

The point was Baruto re-got left arm under (="MAKIKAE")

and Baruto did not take time and threw immediately by "SUKUINAGE"

This is Baruto's first time to make victory for Yokozuna.
