Day15 vs Kaio (Kyushu-Basho 2010 Nov)

Grand sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho
day15 (="Senshuraku)(=final day in traditional Japanese word)

Baruto meets Ozeki Kaio.
Kaio is from Kyushu Island.
The spectaculars praise Kaio everyday and every Kyushu-basho.

Past result is Baruto's 7-5.
Last one year result is
2010Sep: won by Okuridashi
2010Jul: won by Yorikiri
2010May: won by Oshidashi
2010Mar: won by Yorikiri
2010Jan: won by Yorikiri
2009Nov: lost by Kotenage (Cick to my post)

Kyushu's Kaio has something .......

Uuuuum,,,
Kaio in Kyushu-basho is different from him in other tournaments...
Kaio aimed to throw Kotenage from very beginning.
He selected this killer submission in the best timing.
In the end,Kaio's arm away from arampit,so final submission was Tottari.

Ozeki Baruto ×(TOTTARI)○ Kaio Ozeki

11-4 is Baruto's score this tournament.

Baruto marked 11 wins and keep in championship race till day14.
This is not good.
Baruto these tournaments after ozeki promotion has not showed his sumo.

I again emphasize the point Baruto skill up his sumo.
I mentioned before(click to my post).
specially
Lower stability
Step works

And I want Baruto to sharpen up his pushing style.

Anyway I really say thank you,Baruto!
Your job this tournament makes us very happy and gives us much energy!

Day14 vs Hakuho (Kyushu-Basho 2010Nov)

Grand Sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho Day14(Saturday)

Sorry for updating lately.

Championship race has 4 candidates before bouts today.
1 lose Hakuho and Toyonoshima.
2 loses Baruto and Kaio.
3 loses Goeido.

We have Hakuho vs Baruto and Toyonoshima vs Kaio.
If Hakuho or Toyonoshima win,Goeido is no more champion in this tournament.

Hakuho(now 12-1) was lost by Kisenosato.
Baruto(now11-2) was lost by Homasho and Toyonoshima.

Past result is Baruto got 1 win and 15 loses.
1 win was 2010Jan.(click to my post)

Baruto this tournament has not showed pushing style much.
But I hope Baruto show pushing style for Yokozuna.
because no chance is coming to baruto in "Yotsu-Sumo"(=grip belt each other) style,I think.

Uuuuuum.
Baruto trie to get left grip but he could not.
Hakuho smoothly got his style.
Hakuho rushed with his grip style.
No chance for Baruto to recover.

Hakuho showed fast and logical sumo.

Ozeki Baruto ○(YOROKIRI)× Hakuho Yokozuna

11 wins 3 loses.

Baruto has no chance to championship this tournament.

Day13 vs Kotooshu (Kyushu-Basho2010nov)

Grand Sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho Day13 (Friday)

Baruto challenges Ozeki Kotooshu today.
Baruto 10-2 and Kotooshu 8-4 is their score till day12.
Kotooshu lost his passion to this tournament in early days, I think.
Yesterday's Kotooshu vs Kakuryu was his typical one in this tournament.
Lack of care......

Past 1 year result between them is 2 wins Baruto to 4 wins Kotooshu.
2009Nov:Kotooshu won by YORIKIRI.
2010Jan:Baruto won by YORITAOSHI.(→my post)

Kotooshu this tournament is not good but still not-easy opponent for Baruto.

Baruto got a nice outside grip position.
Not far.
Baruto threw with body twisting.
What a amazing throw!

Ozeki Baruto ○(UWATENAGE)× Kotooshu Ozeki

Day12 vs Toyonoshima (Kyushu-Basho 2010Nov)

Grand Sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho Day12.

Baruto meets 10-1 Toyonoshima who is co-leader of this tournament.
Loser of this bout drops down from championship race.

Toyonoshima is a small Japanese wrestler but he has a good sumo skills to cover his physical scale.
Toyonoshima had been keeping status of Makuuchi top rank but he had bad contact with illegal gambling and got punished.
One tournament(2010July) was "Kinshin"and he dropped down to Jyuryo Division in last tournament(2010Sep).
He marked a good score in Jyuryo division.
He has returned to Makuuchi Division in this tournament.

I think this Jyuryo tour is not a bad experience for Toyonoshima.

Past result is Baruto's 9 wins 1 lose.

Uuuuuuum.
Toyonoshima took advantage of Baruto's bad step works in order to make Baruto unbalanced.

Day11 vs Yoshikaze (Kyushu-Basho 2010Nov)

Grand sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho day11.

Our Baruto has Maegashira #5 Yoshikaze(5-5).
Yoshikaze has rushing style sumo.
Yohikaze showed good fight against Yokozuna yesterday.
Past result is Yoshikaze0-2Baruto.

Baruto did a good start.
In these days bouts, Baruto was keeping a good concentration on starting.
Baruto did not get both grips but fixed (="Kimeru") Yoshikaze's movement by right arm lock and went forwards to the ring edge with left arm pushing to armpit(="Haze-oshi).

Reverse view slow motion
Perfect win!

Day10 vs Kakuryu (Kyushu-Basho 2010 Nov)

Grand sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho day10

Baruto meets Mongolian west sekiwake Kakuryu 5-4.
Baruto has already passed "Kachi-Koshi"line.
Passing the 8 wins is "Kyukin-Naoshi" in another words.
"Kyukin" means salary.
"Naoshi" means somehow promotion.
If Ozeki rankner lost over 8 and "Make-Koshi" ,the ozeki is called "Kadoban"in the next tournament.
"Kadoban" is in the edge of cliff.
If this ozeki lost next tournament,he will be down to sekiwake.
In the case of Baruto,he is continuing "Kachi-Koshi".
So this matter is not facing to Baruto.
I wrote too long...
1 loser until yesterday are Hakuho,Baruto,Kaio and "Hiramaku"(=under maegashira ranker) Toyonoshima.
To survive the championship,Baruto has to have much care of every bout.

Past result are 5 wins Kakuryu and 7 wins Baruto.
In this 6 tournaments, 2 wins Kakuryu and 3 wins Baruto.
Last 2 bouts were Kakuryu got 2 wins.
2010Sep: Kakuryu won by sotogake.(read my post)
2010May:Kakuryu won by oshitaoshi(read my post)

I want to emphasize Kakuryu is not easy opponent.

Kakuryu shifted his body left at start(="Tachiai").
Baruto (I guess) had expected Kakuryu's this trick motion.

Baruto gripped his left outside grip tightly.
Smaller Kakuryu did not do anything under this position.
Baruto threw Uwatenage with downwards force!!!!

Perfect win!!!

Ozeki Baruto ○(UWATENAGE)× Kakuryu Sekiwake

9 wins 1 lose.

Day10
Hakuho, Kaio and Toyonoshima won.
So 4 sumotoris are standing on 1 lose.

Baruto come on!
This Hakuho is not unbeatable Yokozuna.
This is the chance!

Day9 vs Tochinoshin(Kyushu-Basho 2010 Nov)

Grand Sumo Tournament Day9 Kyushu-Basho.

Baruto fights against Tochinoshin today.

Tochinoshin is 3 wins 5 loses till yesterday.
Tochinoshin this tournament has not gotten his sumo style yet.

Both tried to grip from beginning.
Baruto and Tochinshin tugged each other.
Tochinoshin tried to pull up but he couldn't.
Baruto tried to pull up and he could lift up Tochinoshin completely.
Power sumo.
The point was baruto got left outside grip.

Ozeki Baruto ○(YORIKIRI)× Tochinoshin Komusubi

Yes!! Baruto passed 8 wins and got "Kachi-Koshi"

8 wins 1 lose.

1 loser upper rankers are Hakuho,Kaio and Baruto.

Day8 vs Kitataiki (Kyushu-Basho 2010 Nov)

Grand Sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho Day8 (="Naka-bi")

Baruto has Maegashira #3 Kitataiki.
Kitataiki means "Kita"(=north) "Tai"(=big) "Ki" (=tress)
Kitataiki means North big tree.
He is from Tokyo.
So North sounds something strange.
Do you know why?

The answer is Kitataiki belongs to stable "Kitano-umi-Beya".
His master is former great Yokozuna and former leader of "Sumo Kyokai" "KITANO-UMI".

Baruto pressed the opponent with full power.
Stepping work was still "Batabata".
Baruto's aggressive attitude to push away Kitataiki after passing the edge was very mere for him.
I felt Baruto was getting better day by day.

7 wins 1 lose.

Come on,Baruto!!!

By the way,Kitataiki was pushed away (="Dame-dashi") yesterday by Hakuho....
Kitataiki's attitude made opponent irritated, didn't he?

Asyou know,Tochiozan is developing his sumo basho by basho.
His start position is very low and his rushing is very sharp.
Past is 9 wins' baruto only 1 win's Tchiozan.

This bout was Baruto's fastest one in this tournament.
Easy bout. His starting was very excellent.

Baruto succeeded in stoppig Tochiozan's sharp start.

Day6 vs Asasekiryu (Kyushu-Basho 2010 Nov)

Grand sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho Day6

Baruto meets Mongolian Rikishi Asasekiryu.
Baruto had 4 wins 4 loses inthe past bouts.
But last bout was last kyushu-basho in 2009.

Baruto gripped right outside grip easily.
But Asasekiryu tried to attached his head to Baruto's breast (=atama wo tukeru).

If Baruto upset and tried to raise Asasekiryu up,Asa would win thi boiut.
Baruto pressed Asasekiryu downwards.
Asasekiryu was bent.

And threw with right outside grip by "UWATEDASHINAGE"

Start movement was still not smooth.
Waist position was high.
Stepping works were not his best ones.

But no more loses is very important to get emperror's cup.

Day5 vs Homasho (Kyushu-Basho 2010 Nov)

Grand Sumo Tournament Kyushu- Basho Day5

Baruto has Homasho.
Hamasho sumoes very honestly.
He never showed tricky "Tachiai"(=start).

Every Baruto fans thinks Hoamsho is easy opponent.....but,,

Baruto started with soft raising.
Because Homasho started very far from center.
I think this was Homasho's one plan to weaken Baruto's rushing.

Baruto could grip right ouside and left inside.
And with pulling up and rushed forward.
At the edge,Homasho did "Makikae" and Homasho was in "Morosashi" position.

Oh,no.....

Day3 vs Aminishiki (Kyushu-Basho 2010 Nov)

Grand Sumo Tournament Kyushu-Basho Day3.

Baruto has Maegashira #2 Aminishiki today.
Aminishiki beat Ozeki Kotooshu yesterday.

Aminishi 5 wins and Baruto 8 wins are past results.

Perfect win.
Baruto started with still high position.
But I think his starting is getting better.

Ozeki BARUTO ○(TSURIDASHI)× AMINISHIKI Maegashira #2

3 wins no loses.

Come on,Baruto!
***************************************************************************

Yesterday's hero Kisenosato Maegashira top beat Ozeki Harumafuji completely.
Harumafuji has not gotten first win in this tournament.

Hakuho has started from today onwards.
Kotoshogiku could not di anythng.

November 15, 2010

Hakuho straight wins record has stopped at 63

Big shock ran through all of Japan.
Nobody were predicting Hakuho stopped his straight wins before 69.

Today's Kisenosato concentrated keeping on rushing and pushing.

After bout interview,Hakuho lost his mind when Kise's pushing on.

Day2 vs Aran (Kyushu-Basho 2010 Nov)

Oh,our Baruto showed a nonstandardized sumo.

Please enjoy his big scale sumo,,,,,,,,,,!!!!

No need to explain today!

Ozeki BARUTO ○(HARIMANAGE)× ARAN Komusubi

2 wins 0 loses

We love you,Baruto!!!

Day1 vs Kisenosato (Kyushu-Basho 2010 Nov)

Today Kyushu(=Island located in south prat of Japan) Basho(=tournament) begins.

Baruto meets Maegashira #1 ranker Kisenosato.

Baruto started with "henka" in order to grip left outside.
This was not a good way (but today is first day).

Baruto got right outside grip(=this is not his style) and his big power and rushing power disarmed Kisenosato completely.

Somebody said this Baruto sumo was disappointed.
But I think win is the best result for first day.

Baruto, Never mind!

I know you know everything very well.

Ozeki BARUTO ○(YORIKIRI)× KISENOSATO Maegashira#1

1 win!!!
=====================================
Yokozuna Hakuho is now challenging to Legend Yokozuna Futabayama's record 69straight wins(75years ago!!)
Today Hakuho has Komusubi Tochinoshin.

I felt Tochinoshin weighted up.
But Tochinoshin looked very nervous.
Hakuho looked relaxed.....

"Kenshoki" (=Flags prize) was 40 flags.

Uuuuum,
Perfect win...

Hakuho marked 63 straight wins!!

Hakuho meets Tochinoshin on Day1

Nihon Sumo Kyokai has the match meeting of Kyushu-Basho on Nov.12th.
Judgement Division mainly owes match program in this meeting.

They decided Day1 and day 2 match program.
And Yokozuna Hakuho meets Tochinoshin Day1 and Kisenosato Day2.
Past result vs Tochinoshin is 6 wins no loses and vs Kisenosato is 20wins 4 loses.
This matches are in a sense irregular,
because East Yokozuna generally meets west Komusbi on day1 and East Maegashira #1 on day2.

Former Yokozuna Takanohana who is a chief of Judgement Division commented
"Tochinoshi is "Yotsu-sumo" style so both will be a good match."
"Kiesnoato has a potential. If he shows his best performance,he can reach to unreachable zone."

I think Hakuho meets Tochiozan day1.
So this news made me big surprise.
Tochinoshin is the best for hakuho to meet on Day1.

Nihon sumo Kyokai stands on Hakiuho side.

And new record's day will be Day8.
