Some news has come to us.
The article source is Jiji press Ltd.
I traslate it.
Grand Sumo Tournament Day13.26th.Sekiwake Baruto got 12th wins and Ozeki promotion becomes almost certain. It is commonly said a standard to promote to Ozeki is 33 wins in 3 tournaments.Baruto has reached it and already defeated 3 ozekis.Tomozuna (former sekiwake Kaiki) chief referee division said,"He is really strong. 12wins are not not enough. There is no obstacle for Baruto to promote to Ozeki now."Musashigawa (former Yokozuna Mienoumui) rijichou (=top of sumo kyokai) said,"His sumo is same as Ozeki level."The matter of promotion to Ozeki,Yokozuna is needed the approval of Rijikai(board of director).Referee division which works for ranking requests Rijicho to have a special Rijikai in a day or two.
33wins is only standard.and Baruto had passed this last tournament.
10 continuous wins and 3 ozeki defeating and sumo improving totally influence ozeki promotion.
Anyway our Baruto is reaching to Ozeki!!!!

Good news.
I have one question.
Why every rikishi have different colour mawashi? Does the colour of mawashi mean something?

congratulations to all of us :)
but especially for Baruto
This is fantastic news, Chuchai-san!! This news has made my day!! I am so pleased for Baruto-san that his great talents are being recognised! Let's all hope the formal decision by the sumo board is the one that Baruto-san and all his fans wish for!! Dewa, MM

I think the color has no meaning in this case.
Rikishi chooses his favorite color,I guess.
When Harumafuji promoted to Ozeki,he chose silver-gold color, but he could not win several days,so he re-tie Ama's black belt.
He still uses a black belt now.
For fans,a belt color is kind of symbol of its Rikishi.
So as usually, they don't change color.
